Itineraries
Dag 1
Melbourne - The Grampians
First day we will drive to the Grampians. Our first stop will be at the intriguing Australian Grand Canyon, a where we will wander through a rocky path at the edge of a smaller, picturesque gorge. Throughout the day, we will go for light treks in the Grampians. Among others, we will walk to The Balconies that reveals a phenomenal view across the valley. We will also witness the beauty of the waterfall, MacKenzie Falls. Our goal of the day is to arrive at the scenic camping grounds late afternoon, where I will set up the camper trailer for the night. On the menu for the evening is Kangaroo filet along with a good red. We will hope for a clear, starry night, so we can marvel at the beauty of the Australian night sky.
Day 2
The Grampians - Melbourne
On the second day, we will start the morning with a light trekking around the camping area, where there is a rich wildlife. We will therefore hope to find kangaroos, emus, wallabies and a variety of parrots. After breakfast, we’re going to drive through the beautiful mountain landscape while looking for more wildlife. First stop will be at a the old volcanic crater, Tower Hill, where we will trek for an hour, looking for koalas, echidnas, reptiles and black swans as well as kangaroos, wallabies and emus. By lunchtime we will be driving towards Great Ocean Road, one of the worlds most astonishing coastlines. There will be many stops along the coast, like the Twelve Apostles, that are grand rock formations ascending from the ocean. It truly is an impressive and spectacular sight. Our estimated time of arrival to Melbourne will be 7 pm.
