Itineraries

Day 1

Melbourne - The Grampians

On the first day, we will drive through diverse landscapes and old mining towns to reach the mountain range, The Grampians. On the way, we will stop at a typical Australian vineyard and taste their wine. Arriving at the campsite, I will set up the camper trailer that will be your home for the next two days, while you relax and take in the surroundings. The menu for the evening will be kangaroo Carpaccio. Hopefully, the night will be clear, so we can admire the starry sky.

Day 2

The Grampians

After a good nights sleep, we will start the morning with light trekking, exploring the camping grounds. There is rich wildlife in this area and we’re hoping to find kangaroos, wallabies, emus and a variety of parrots. Throughout the day, we will go for light treks in the Grampians. Among others, we will walk to The Balconies that reveals a phenomenal view across the valley. We will also witness the beauty of the waterfall, MacKenzie Falls. We will arrive back at the campsite by late afternoon, where you can sit and let the impressions of day sink in with a good meal.

Day 3

The Grampians - Tower Hill

Waking up the third day in, we will have to be ready to leave the camping grounds by 8 am in the morning, right after breakfast. Once again driving through the Grampians, we will continue our search for wildlife. Our first stop of the day will be at an old volcanic crater, Tower Hill, where we are trekking for an hour, looking for koalas, echidnas, reptiles and black swans as well as kangaroos, wallabies and emus. By lunchtime, we will be driving towards Great Ocean Road, one of the worlds most astonishing coastline, where we will stop by various lookouts. We’re expecting to arrive at yet another scenic campsite, set along the Great Ocean Road, late afternoon. There we will settle for one night only.

Day 4

Great Ocean Road - Melbourne

After breakfast on the last day, our first destination will be the Twelve Apostles which are grand rock formations ascending from the ocean, a truly astonishing sight. From there we will drive up the coastline, stopping at numerous lookouts. Great Otway National Park, a temperate rainforest, is a must and we will spend a fair amount of time there, trekking and eating our lunch beneath the lush canopies. Returning to the coastline, we will be heading home and expecting to arrive at your hotel by 7 pm.
